September 12 | 6 - 7:30 PM | EMERGENCY FOOD PREPAREDNESS CLASS

Local Matters' hands-on cooking classes are a great way to learn new cooking techniques and build your skills in real-time. In honor of National Preparedness Month, our September 12 class will teach you how to prepare your home for an emergency, including tips on how to cook and manage the foods you have when the power is out. 

Both in-person and virtual options are available for registration with limited in-person capacity. We also offer a no-cost option to ensure equal opportunity to our classes.

Things to note:

  • Doors open at 5:30 PM and class begins promptly at 6 PM.
  • This class will take place in-person at Local Matters' offices; however, options to access the class virtually are also available.*
  • Virtual registration includes a meal kit with all ingredients. 
  • We recommend wearing closed-toe shoes for safety. 
  • To make classes as accessible and inclusive as possible, we respectfully request that individuals sign up for no more than two "no-cost" spots at a time.    
  • Every guest must reserve a spot in order to attend. If you plan to bring friends or family members with you, please reserve the number of spots needed for your entire party.
